Key points for correctly maintaining and checking group data (Weaners, Finishers, Replacement stock) to achieve accurate period results.

The Basics:

Properly setting up the company settings is the foundation for accurate result calculations.
Check the following settings:

  • Amounts excluding VAT (Also set the correct VAT percentages for the codes)
  • The number of pen spaces must be filled in
  • Do not check the option “Estimate feed in animal based on feed schedule”
  • Choose the correct weight conversion standard

Registering Data:

Keeping animal counts and balances accurate is crucial for correct results.
Tip: Use the weekly report!
Register all animal movements directly/daily in the weekly report. Track this at pen level or company level.
For animal deaths, enter the number of days they were present. These days are used to calculate growth, etc., for animals under 70 kg.

By registering this data in the weekly report, you maintain control over the input in PigExpert and can detect any changes.
Update the data in PigExpert weekly. Once all weekly report data is entered in PigExpert, check the balance in PigExpert against the weekly report balance. Also verify animal numbers in your feeding system or other systems.

The easiest way to compare the weekly report is with a period result:
4.3.5. Piglet Rearing – Balance
4.4.5. Finishers  – Balance
4.6.5. Rearing Animals – Balance

Checking the Animal Balance

If you see discrepancies in the animal balance, you can check your input using the steps below.
Reports not yet in your overview list can be retrieved via:
Exchange > Saved Reports. Select the missing report and click Process.

  • Price per animal
    Also check for duplicate entries.

  • Estimated days present
    Also check for duplicate entries.

Better a correct stock on January 5 than an incorrect one on December 31.

Note: enter the stock of all available feed types on the same day.
